A DAY IN THE LIFE OF TWO SHOP OWNERS AT THE AUTUMN NEEDLEPOINT MARKET IN FRISCO, TX

The day begins with a delicious (ha, ha) breakfast at the Embassy Suites Hotel.  We need sustenance to get us through the day! It's also a great time to introduce ourselves to others in the industry.  So many people have been welcoming and helpful to us.

There are over 100 vendors located on five different floors in the hotel.  The rooms look like this:

It is literally like browsing through 100 needlepoint stores! Many vendors have "cash and carry" canvases with some designs for pre-order. This is A LOT of work for the designers.  They schlep multiple copies of all of their canvases from near and far and transform an ugly hotel room into a welcoming display of their work.

We survived on mini candy bars and bottles of water as we didn't stop from 9:30-5:30.

Along the way we met lots of terrific designers and other shop owners.

As a reward, we celebrated with a glass of wine, some college football, great people watching and a delicious dinner at the bar at Dee Lincoln Prime. 

The day would not be complete without a stop at The Star - the training facility of the Dallas Cowboys.

And on the way back to the hotel we popped into Target. Everything is bigger in Texas!
